Over the Rainbow (GAY PARADE 2009 IN LONDON)

It seems that rainbow is not only one kind of natural phenomenon but also a symbol of homosexuality, which means colorful lives, various personalities, and curvy sexuality. Many gay corporations and human rights groups have organized regular events or festivals as gay parade in different modern cities as London, Los Angeles, and Taipei, for the purpose which can publicize their human rights, creation, and reflection. Fortunately, I had an opportunity to attend the famous activity this year in London and was affected by the environment where gays presented their confidence, beauty, and passion for their lives.

As colorful as rainbow, gay parade this year was full of people as several kinds of groups, such like gay, lesbian, transsexual queen, artist, muscle men, Asian… etc, and it was very significant to new students as my lovely classmates and me to visit this parade. Therefore, we decided to walk beside them among the street from Green Park to Soho. During the way, we took a lot of photos with them, laughed with them, and enjoyed everything including music and beer. The only thing I definitely believe is that gay has no difference with normal person but looks more joyful, lovely, and confident than the others. Moreover, I was impressed a lot by their innovation and creation, such as using recycled materials or rainbow flags to make dresses, and I suggest all students who study in UAL should participate in this kind of event.

To sum up, lives nowadays have been changed a lot already, and multi-sexualities have been more acceptable by most of people. I definitely believe that everyone will explore and get his/her own way to achieve happy ending. Furthermore, I wish all gays that there will be somewhere blessed over the rainbow.
