The aims of education as the methods schools always teach have been changed all the time. However, different opinions of education are constantly discussed by students and students’ parents, and it seems that no one can give a perfect definition or conclusion to human learning. Some of them may expect students should choice what they intend to learn instead of what schools decide to teach, but the others may have concerns that students’ behavior and knowledge will no longer have a good standard if they only learn or do what they want.
In my case, basing on my working experience as a junior high school’s teacher, I definitely think that we should not underestimate the learning ability of students’ human nature. For instant of my students, they usually tried to imitate someone who they intend to be and learn what they interest. In my opinion, I extremely believe that neither learning what they want nor teaching what teachers want would be appropriate to students nowadays. However, I suggest that the aims of education should discover what ability and knowledge students need to learn first of all, and then school could try to find various ways which can be attractive to students. Therefore, students will not only be interesting what they study but also have a decent standard.
Although the aims of education have been always changing but never completely defined, I truly believe that students nowadays will reveal the answers by themselves. In fact, I am not worrying about the aims of education at all, and I deeply suppose that there will be a road to direct them even they get lost. My only consideration to the aims of education is the situation that they will be maintained in the same way, instead of changed or fixed as time goes on.
