My English

Using English nowadays is the most common and convenient method to acquire knowledge such as different cultures, technology, and other academic studies. However, most of people who are not native English speakers always suppose that the only advantage of understanding English is to communicate with foreigner. In my case, I think my English ability is qualified to communicate from general speaking and listening, but I afraid it is not good enough to discuss or learn complex subjects as political problem, economy, or marketing analyzing. Therefore, I deeply have known that I need to intensify my English ability before I will be officially applied into MA main course at LCC.

Horror Harrods

I will never forget this terrible experience on 27th Jun. However, that day was definitely many people’s favorite day in this year, because it is the first day of discount in Harrods. In a fact, I was attracted to go shopping there by advertising on buses around in London, and intended to buy some presents for my friends in Taiwan. Therefore, some of my new classmates and I decided to go there to visit the most luxurious department store in the world.

There absolutely were crowds of people in front of Harrods, and most of them especially took a long queue for purchasing something in GUCCI. After passing this significant crowd, I suddenly discovered that someone was closing to me and tried stealing something from my handbag. Although I detected the action of thief, my mobile phone was still stolen by the thief during a few seconds while a crowd of people were pushing each other. Afterwards, I tried asking my classmates to call my mobile number in order to check it available or not, but they found it was switched off immediately. Undoubtedly, I was angry and scared at this terrible situation that I lost not only my mobile phone but also my contact list of my phonebook.

Eventually, I didn’t purchase anything cheap in Harrods, but I lost an important tool to contact my friends instead. In my case, I cannot stop thinking that Harrods is really a horrible place.

Frist Impressions

-----------------Homework on 25 Jun 09-------------------
First Impressions written by Alan (HU YA-LUN)

This is my third time in London and it’s difficult to remember my first impressions of London. If I remembered, I suppose that they must were multi-culture, modern construction, and various races in such a giant city. At this time I intend to present my first impressions of London College of Communication where I study an academic course.

In my opinion, London College of Communication may be the biggest building of UAL, although I have never been to the other colleges except CSM. I heard from my friends who have lived in London for a long time that the location of LCC would be a seriously dangerous place of the central London, but during full time of study I did not discover anything threatening at all. However, I found that there are some things impressive in this building, such as a large restaurant where has various delicious foods, a unique library where has plentiful learning resources and facilities, and many friendly classmates with a handsome tutor.

In conclusion, I do believe that I will acquire enough knowledge from this modern campus as LCC and I deeply ensure that I will not only be more appropriate to be a good student but also get a lot of friends here. In any case, I am definitely enjoying everything in this big city.
